The final days of our whirlwind travel adventure and the first few days as the Macaulay's!
On the 14th of July 2023, on Balangan Cliff in Bali, we said yes to our next adventure!
We had another nightmare experience with Scoot but finally made it to Bali! Temples, dances, monkeys, rice paddies - welcome to the Island of the Gods!
We visited the Athenian capital of Greece and saw the Acropolis and the Parthenon!
We saw sea turtles, visited the Cave of the Nymphs and swam in the crystal blue waters of the Ionian Sea.
We visited the ancient capital of Rome, got too hot, explored some ruins, overheated, visited the pope and then cooled down in a cold bath.
We stopped to visit the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa!
We set off to explore the charming hidden villages of the Cinque Terra. Featuring two very sweaty humans exploring colourful villages, eating gelato and trying local anchovies.
We visited Florence, capital of the Tuscany region of Italy and saw David’s twin, lots of art and baked under the hot Tuscan sun
Romantic canals and picturesque buildings. We made it to Venice!
Our return visit to France, featuring the French Riviera and Monaco!
Food, beaches and a terrible Airbnb. Welcome to Barcelona!
In Seville, in oppressing heat, we visited a palace and experienced the fabulous flamenco!
We found some time to relax on the beach to see out our final days in Portugal.
In the enchanting town of Sintra, we embarked on a tour of romantic palaces and castles.
Our next adventurous journey saw us exploring the historic centre of Lisbon in Portugal where we climbed countless hills to magnificent view points and had an encounter with peacocks in a castle! Lisbon well and truly stole our hearts with its unique atmosphere and friendly locals ❤️
Another famous tower, baguettes, cheese, French wine and Paris - what more could you need!
In this chapter we head off to watch the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, explore Hyde Park, visit the Museum of Brands and the Museum of Design, an Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. Featuring more ventures to Spoons and a giant clock!
We kept our heads at the Tower of London and set out to explore the City of London and it’s surrounds
24 hours in Brussels featuring cute cobblestone streets and grand buildings
A quick stopover to see the cathedral and to enjoy some kolsch beer!
For our last few days in Berlin, we visit a baroque palace, learn more of the dark history of Germany and explore beautiful buildings and sights around the centre of Berlin.
Our first two days in Berlin; featuring Prussian buildings, free beer, a brief history of Berlin and the remnants of a wall.
Our Scoot airlines experience and 30 hour layover in Singapore. Featuring a capsule hotel, some pretty gardens and Sam being over friendly with the merlion!
